Another Scientifically Unsubstantiated Quote (e.g. pure Scientism):

“Additionally, as the electricity mix continues to decarbonize”… More ‘feel good’ (PC) trigger words - Where has this claim ever been empirically established? Are we to continually accept such wholesale claims without any proofs of evidence?

Without such, a full blown Academic and Public Policy repudiation of Aristotle’s invention called “the Scientific Method”…

Why are you getting hung up on that when the sentence right before that answered the question you asked:

Results show that even for cars registered today, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) have by far the lowest life-cycle GHG emissions

You asked for a study, I gave you a study, and you dismissed it because it made a forward looking statement you don't like. I don't know how you can "empirically establish" what's going to happen in the future, but here's EIA report projecting growth in renewable energy production:

They are hiding the 15 Unicorns that will actually be powering this. And they cant show them right now because Musk has dibs on them for the next mythical Cybertruck PhotoSHOP.

No magic needed, here's the company that's supplying their chassis:

https://zeuselectricchassis.com/

They're a new company, but apparently have sold a few trucks, so I don't think it's all vaporware.

Interesting, their sales pitch includes this statement several times. "
ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING EV TRUCK PLATFORMS IN THE CLASS 4-6 SPECIALTY WORK TRUCK MARKET"
They have not sold a single truck, yet claim to be one of the fastest growing builders of these trucks.
crowdfunding pitch
I guess they are following a politicians method, say the same thing over and over, and eventually some people will believe you no matter if its true or not.

They've apparently sold at least 5 of them:

SMUD has partnered with Zeus Electric Chassis, Inc. and the California Mobility Center (CMC) to procure five custom, all-electric work trucks as it works to transition to an all-electric fleet. The trucks are the only all-electric work truck chassis manufactured in North America in the medium duty class and will be customized for a variety of uses throughout SMUD’s service territory.

They havent built anything other than their prototype.
Those 5 are an agreement to buy, more or less like the waiting list Musk has of people wanting a cybertruck, he hasn't sold the trucks, just the "IDEA" of the truck.

To rlw999: So you are suggesting that a ‘Government Report’ is independent and without bias??

Be advised that Universities routinely compete for Gov’t Grant moola ($$ cash cow) by willingly contracting to substantiate what’s often and essential a politically preordained outcome - Heads up, unfortunately, this is how the real world of Academia often operates… Also be advised that by design ‘Real Science’ cannot seek a preordained outcome, to do so is an abject violation and reversal of Aristotle’s scientific method, and a retreat to the Scientism of Rasputin..By definition, there’s no such thing as “it’s settled science” (how so??), a phrase regularly employed to disarm one’s opponent…Due to the ‘highly politicized inertia’ inherent with a Gov’t sponsored study (e.g. the uber potential for ‘outcome based’ science), one needs to take serious independent and more objective sources… The Socratic method requires critical thought, and the obligation of deeper enquiry…

Put a hand full of those electric RVs in your neighborhood and watch the grid go down. Not to mention ugly!

Good example Don of what these are to be. Urban campers. Look at the ground clearance. You couldn't get that unit off road or even onto a dirt road.

do all of these emission comparisons for the vehicles include the fact that xx% of the electric production needed to charge/run them will be from fossil fuels?
