Imagine if the total carbon emissions spent in manufacturing the RV solar panels on your travel trailer were equivalent to 3X the amount to manufacture a Honda EU2000 inverter/generator.
I would still have solar for noise reduction and no fumes.

And please shed the sunshine on the carbon emissions of a Honda vs a solar panel. Why are you keeping it a secret?

Homey, I was told by several good minded people on this RV.net forum that BEV's are cleaner than ICE vehicles on day 1. As you know, I have disproved that notion; compared to ICE vehicles--more carbon emissions are produced during BEV's manufacturing process. Depending on miles driven annually and whether if the electricity is clean or dirty, BEV's carbon parity will come years or decades later.

I am rather surprised you chose your "personal freedom" (solar for noise reduction and no fumes) over preserving Mother Earth (carbon emission reduction aka Climate Change). Seems "individuality" is no longer vogue.

Personal freedom is great until it infringes on someone else. Need to have balance.

Still waiting for the medical plan.
Still trying to find parents to about 300 children separated from parents. Should be paying $2,000,000 a month in child support for that disaster.

I thought Mr. run to Cancun was the Cuban?

Wow, 10 months later and still suffering a severe case of TDS - and he's Canadian! You need to start smoking crack, I hear it relieves the symptoms of TDS.

Okay. Haven't heard of PG&E?

Here is a link to an article. These 29,000 people facing blackouts may not think it is a "lie with no evidence."

Safety shut off is different than lack of generation and will not be caused by plugging in your 400 mile EV-RV.

Safety shut off is no different than any other cause of the power being off. Power off is power off.

If you need to charge your EV to flee the wildfires, does it really matter just WHY the power is off? I think not.

If it is 100 degrees outside and you need to cool your home, does it really matter just WHY the power is off? I think not.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Power outages for ANY reason are a problem when you have to rely entirely on electricity.

We Méxicanos are hoping the cactus curtain works [emoticon]

I calculated today the price of regular gasoline here and it's $3.26 Please don't crack jokes about the gasoline. Its USA refined with 0 alcohol.

We have a 1.15 Gw generation plant no outages or wind propelled flying wires.

And steam distilled water in our pipes. But it isn't sterile.

And the power and water is regional.

The original comment was about overloading the grid with EVs and the follies of renewable energy. Overloading the grid with EVs would cause rolling blackouts.

If you want to talk about safety shut offs due to poor installation and maintenance of equipment that is a different conversation.

Whatever.

Focus on energy issues please. Rants about politics is like straight oatmeal sludge -- it gets old quick. Or down here: Pink and green tortillas They Fill You Up Fast...

As far as California banning chain saws, it isn't going to happen. There are thousands of off-grid homesteads. Wood heat.

Grid overload will come from an aggregate over taxation from motor vehicle, dwelling and industrial demand.

Perhaps Canada could take the bulk of those folks traveling north so that the pressure on the US electrical grid is reduced. That would be better for the environment because of the clean energy in Canada, and it would reduce the US national debt. Mexico just passes them thru, why doesn't the US?
