This was our first long travel this year. I could not get GasBuddy to give me a big map with prices on it so I could look ahead for a deal on the laptop that always travels with us.

When running the local maps, it gave me a map that had logos at the top, but nothing on the tiny map most of the time. When it gave the location, the maps scale was of use only with a solid native guide.

If you go to the large price-heat map, it is so dark that you can't read the cities until the scale is too small to use. If you get there and you are not in the right place, there is not way to find out how to get where you need to go....

I'm not a person that avoids change, but when you take something that worked great for us travelers, and make it hard to use, it is disappointing.

I hope I am alone and someone knows how to get the picture along the planned route.

Phone app works reasonable for me. It limits the locations when zooming out the map. Significant overlapped ICONs wouldn't be of much use because details and the map itself can't be seen. I can move the map and zoom in for more detail as needed.

Perhaps a larger PC based screen and app would be better?

I just made a trip and it worked fine---saves me a lot of money. I look when I need fuel not days or miles in advance.

I use it any time I am planning a trip.

I will say that it is much more simple to use on a computer, but I can still make it work on my android phone and tablet.

I just checked it with my Samsung phone and it's working fine and the map is working great.

iPhone still works the same. With a 800 mile range and many trips West I pretty well know where I’ll be getting fuel…usually Sam’sClub in KC or Lincoln, NE. Laramie, WY consistently has the cheapest diesel in the West.

I was a big user of Gas Buddy for years, then they got to crazy with ads and pushing their subscription. Give Gas Guru a spin too, its less spammy I find. For me I usually search where at Costco is en route and aim for that.
