I'd much rather run something that's more tailored for that, like Lucas Upper Cylinder Lube.

In our old 5.9 we use Opti-Lube XPD additive, 1/2 oz per gallon of fuel.

Outboard 2 cycle the basic stuff is perfectly fine to add to the pre 07.5 Cummins engines. Heck a quart per tank of your used engine oil is perfectly fine also.
They are called "Oil Burner" for a reason!

When I had my 7.3 , I used the recommended Two stroke that stated it had TC-W3.It was rated great for lubricity which the current diesel fuel doesn't have. All older diesels should use this.

2 cycle oil is designed to burn as cleanly as possible. It shouldn’t hurt a diesel in moderation.
I’m not sure how it likes being compressed to 35000 psi’s in a common rail fuel system.
The manual for my old mechanical diesel Land Cruiser says emergency fuel can be made from 3 parts gasoline to 1 part 30 weight engine oil if necessary. It was built before the internet so that could be danger danger now.

Thanks
I put a pint in with every fill up in my 2007 6.7!
I read on a diesel forum, where an extensive test was performed using many fuel additives and conventional 2 cycle oil. The 2 cycle oil fished in 2nd place to a high dollar additive. I can’t swear that it helps.....but, I bet it doesn’t hurt!
In fact, as embarrassing as it is to admit this. About 3 years ago, I had my head placed securely where the sun doesn’t shine, and in almost 30 years of driving diesels.....I finally put gasoline in my diesel truck. I didn’t realize what I had done until it was full. About 27 gallons of gasoline in a 34 gallon fuel tank! 19 miles to my house, drain fuel tank, put a few gallons of diesel with a gallon of 2 cycle oil in tank and flushed system to injectors. Drive to town, fill tank with diesel this time! About 40K miles later.....she’s still doing OK. I can’t help but wonder if that little bit of 2 cycle oil added may have helped some! memtb

Modern as in 07.5 and newer is no bueno!!! Won’t hurt the engine but sure will the downstream emissions systems.
