We are still planning to scale back travel next season.
I am hoping to still be able to afford some.

If it wasn't so serious an issue, we'd laugh when we look at the rise in prices over the year, then look at COLA which tells us how much inflation has raised prices and the two are nowhere near the same number.

Won't be difficult to spend that raise.

In the corporate sector we are lucky to see 3% annual increase for an outstanding employee. 1.5-2% has been more common the past few years despite all the hoopla about record profits. Grass is always greener.

Exactly what way2roll said. Hubby and son will be lucky to see anything.

Yes, what people are paying for drugs is going up. There was talk about slowing that increase, so drug companies bought another politician.

I compare COLA to Fuel Surcharge when I was working. Fuel price goes up, I have to buy 300-500 gallons of that fuel in the week before FSC adjusts. Price goes up again, I never catch up.
The COLA will not keep up.

Are you referring to retired or still working? From what I hear workers in many industries are demanding increases.
