I hate that place almost as bad as Walmart….
But to be fair, you literally bought a type of tire that hasn’t been mainstream since idk, maybe when I was about 7 years old. (By the time I could drive, those “Farm and Fleet specials” were just “old” noisy and rough and the world had moved on to better performing longer lasting radial mud tires that didn’t look like spares for the Jeeps on the MASH movie set.)
Considering there aren’t many guys my age still busting tires and even less who would actually be old enough to remember using them….most of those guys are either on RVnet talking grampa smack to each other or in assisted living, it’s not really a stretch that the tire guy didn’t recognize vintage tire considerations.
Kinda like taking your Koenigsegg to Jiffy Lube and expecting they actually have the oil filter for it and know whatever obscure procedure is required to change the oil properly in a half million dollar super car... Or hittin up Midas for a tune up with a breaker point ignition….
Or asking for a med rare Quarter Pounder at McDs…

Why the inside out swap on the original front tires already? Is your front end eating the tires that bad? Or have you actually put a lot of miles on them?

I have just over 4000 miles on them and they're not wearing perfectly even.

I took the old truck out yesterday and exercised it a little.
It would have been nice if the 400 in my '79 F-250 4wd would have
had half the power this 410 does.

The transfer case has been slipping out of low range so I fixed it for only $2.39.

Our local Walmart is probably the best tire shop in town. LOL
We have the place I took my truck to and a Big 0 and I loath that place.
There are a lot of directional tires on the market today, like the Cooper Evolution winter tires I ordered for my car.
Its sad that a "tire" person can't tell one just by looking at the tread design. I would expect them to know this.

One of my daughters named my truck Lurch, so this must be Lurch Scat. LOL

I bought the truck for two reasons, one - I lost my other pickup when I went back to work full time and
stay in my truck camper rather tan renting a motel room.
I still need a pickup for all the usually reasons that you own one.
Second is its been a long time since I had a 4wd truck that I could take off road and go play.
Being a 1976 Ford F-250 4wd with 4.10 gears, powered by a strong
Mercury 410 4V makes a perfect combo for off-roading.

These are the winter tires that I bought for my car.
They too are directional tires.
Thank Heaven they have an arrow to show the direction of rotation so they can mount them correctly.
I'll be having Walmart mount and balance them for me.

I got my new winter tires put on this afternoon at Walmart.
I think I'm going to like them. ![biggrin [emoticon]](http://www.rv.net/sharedcontent/cfb/images/biggrin.gif)

I wish I'd had them on this morning in SLC.
