I am having problems with the idea that you have 42 degree air coming out of the vents but it is still 84 degrees inside. Either you are not getting much 42 degree air or you are getting a whole lot of 85 air. Check the flow rates of the front vents vs the rear ones and check for possible air leaks up front, including roof vents.

You didn't say what time of day it is but late in the day the sun can put a lot heat through a west facing windshield. And you have a 36ft long side catching sun all day.

If you read ALL the comments you will see NOBODY at his end has or can read a correct Thermometer. So, there is NO WAY he is getting 42 degree air. Doug
