Artic Fox 27-5L.
Two inch stack of manuals, and this one is missing I remember the dealer telling me there is a button I can push to set the hitch height. Looking at the control panel didn't help much, so I manually lifted it until it was about 1" below hitch height. What am I missing.
On another note, backing up a 5th wheel is nothing like a bumper hitch! I can back a bumper pull through a slalom course with my eyes closed. With a the 5er, I truly suck. Doesn't help I don't have the camera set up yet.

What year? Which Lippert auto-level? 4 legs, or 6 legs?
On my Grand Design, hitch height is determined by the height of the hitch, after it's disconnected from the truck, and when I hit the AutoLevel button. When I want to hitch back up, I push the Hitch Height button, and the trailer retracts all the legs except the front ones, which go back to that level.

Can't help you with your levellers, but can relate to backing the 5er. Took me awhile to get used to the difference, but am getting better. I had a hard time with turning in too soon, and then couldn't catch up to the trailer soon enough to back in properly. I ended up pulling ahead a few feet to straighten up, and then trying again. Always an audience, of course. The more I do it, the better I get, though. You will too.

With a little practice anyone can learn to back up a single trailer. I've had many people come to me and ask me to teach them how to drive a class 8 truck/trailer combination before they go to take their commercial test ... usually within half an hour they can back up pretty decent. I bet almost any commercial trucker could having you backing up a fiver in no time.

The hitch height button should be on the controller that is located in the bay. Mine is hung on the left side of the trailer front compartment door. On mine the way it works is once you are ready to disconnect lower the front legs to lift the trailer off the hitch, drive out and then you can auto level from there. Once you are ready to hook back up you hit the hitch height and it will raise all the jacks and set the pin at the height is was when you arrived prior to hitting the auto level. Hope this helps.
