What would a 5A draw on the 120v side of the inverter be on the 12v side?
Truck: 2006 Dodge 3500 Dually

50 amps or so. 120/12=10. 10x5=50
My residential fridge pulls .5 amps on 120 volts so .5 or 1/2 an amp x10 = 5 amps dc

Give that the inverter may at best be 90% efficient
5 /.9 X 10 = 55.5 amps
As the voltage drops a good inverter may draw more amps to keep the voltage on the output side to 120 volts--so that 55.5 may become 60 or more amps.
That's one place that Li shine--assuming a 100 amp-hour battery that has a battery management system which allows a 1c discharge.
SiO2 is a good choice too--as they are rated for 4 C continuous.

50-55 amp draw at 12 volt is a heck of a draw.

Yep. I don’t remember exactly but I think my toaster was about 8 amps which was 80 dc. I usually ran my generator first thing in the morning to power the kerig coffee machine, toaster, microwave and the PD converter to put some of the heavy amps back in the batteries then go to the 1000 watts of solar as the sun improved

12v 500ah, 20 cells_ 4s5p (GBS LFMP battery system). 8 CTI 160 watt panels (1,280 watts)2s4p,Panels mounted flat. Magnum PT100 SCC, Magnum 3012 hybrid inverter, ME-ARC 50. Installed 4/2016 been on 24/7/365, daily 35-45% DOD 2,500+ partial cycles.

And mine sees 180 to 240 amps under similar circumstances since 2009. The OEM battery bank was 875 amp-hours (flooded marine) which has been dropped to 556 (AGM telco).
I wanted my RV to behave as if it were on shore power. It does.

While you and others on this forum may see draws of 180 to 240 amps, I submit that doesn't represent most of us, just like having battery banks of 556 to 875 amp hours isn't what most of us have.
Formerly I had two Trojan T125s...240 amp hours. Now 200 amp hours via my new Lithium battery.
