If you like state parks I would suggest Lums Pond in Delaware or Elk Neck State park in Maryland. They are both about a half hour drive to Newark, but both are nice.Elk Neck has a full hookup section that is beautiful.

I suggest Lums Pond Campground. It is ALL full hookups. It is right on the pond with a dock and hiking trails around the pond. Lums Pond is much easier to get in and out of and is very close to main highways. It is also very big rig friendly. Elk Neck is beautiful but the road to it has many twists and turns. And, trees are very close and encroaching into the road.

Another vote for Lums Pond State Park but be warned weekends book early. Depending on where in Newark you want to be depends on how long to get there.

Lums Pond is very nice except for its abundance of stink bugs. Still finding some after 2 years.
