See #8, on the list under the inserted picture. It's $300. Oddly enough the same exact fine you pay if you disregard the command of a lifeguard. So, if a life guard says "Simon says put your right hand on your left ear", and you don't do it, you're out the same $300!
Yes, an absurd example, I agree, but get real, people. Looks like nobody on Tybee Island has anything better to do than regulate.

Try visiting Ocean Beach on Fire Island in New York. Alternate name is "The Land of No". Walking with an ice cream cone is a $50 fine. No adult beverages can be consumed in public. Not an issue until you realize that the closed cabin of your boat is considered a public area. It gets lots worse than Tybee Island and still does nothing to keep the area clean. I would visit Tybee again but not Ocean Beach.

Sounds like Tybee Island has regulations similar to many of the very crowded beaches in the Northeast. I lived along the Jersey Shore most of my life and, basically, take a towel and your sunscreen - leave the rest at home!

The way I see it, you have three choices:
Go elsewhere.
Go there and follow the rules.
Go there, don't follow the rules, and pay the fines.
For me, I'll choose the first.

I looked it up. Apparently you are not allowed to eat or drink outside of the "commercial area" with the exception of drinking water out of clear plastic containers only.
