As a little kid, I loved wearing cowboy hats. I grew up in the northern CA suburbs and whenever I wore a cowboy hat, people would look at me like I was an alien or something. Now as an old guy, I really like the look of jeans, boots, and straw hats, but wonder if it's now more acceptable to wear western wear even though I'm not a cow poke. I haven't been on a horse in decades! It's the 21st century and I see people from all over the world around here dressed in their traditional/cultural clothing.
Think I would still fit in if I looked like I was from Texas? I drive a pick up truck if that helps...

You need a set of longhorn horns on the front of your truck, a wide leather belt with a massive silver buckle. Preferably one showing you'd won a rodeo bull riding contest, aand you need to give the 'hook em horn' hand signal frequently.

^^Most, would figure a Cowboy in California, is a cut above! Yes, the truck would help, especially with bull horns attached to the grill.

I bought a soft straw cowboy hat at a CA thrift store for $2. A lady friend gave me a round pin which says "Are You Having Fun Yet". I put the pin on the front of hat...
