The only thing worse than obscure acronyms is the misuse of their and there, your and you're, sell and sale, etc. Like fingernails on a chalkboard! Somebody didn't pay attention in 3rd grade
. . . never confuse education with intelligence, nor motion with progress

I'm 1 (Should I spell that out) of those that did not pay attention in school, and did not stay there as long as I should. Most of my life written word communication was pretty much 1 way. I never found a pen that had spellcheck.
Once I started to carry a computer to enter costs daily instead of waiting until home, started to use E-mail. And because I did not want others to see my limited education (Often lack of education is seen as lack of intelligence, and many people are not fair to stupid people)
Compared to learning grammar the things OP is talking about is a piece of chicken.

I am a very firm believer in the byline I use . . "never confuse education with intelligence"
That being said, proper grammar is fairly easy to learn, if one just thinks it out when used, such as your vs. you're. Since you're is obviously a shortened version of 'you are', I replace it with that in my mind -- if it applies, I use it!

Lack of education--do they teach spelling in school anymore? Neighbors son is 10 and brought me a written note he made for me on Veterans day. It was hardly legible. I also have very little formal education but taught myself as best I could. Not interested in learning over at this age, 80, because some are to lazy or think they are cute. Flame on!

I hear you Larry. I often come across ones I don't understand.
I have fun trying to spell them out in hilarious ways.

I understand where your coming from with lack of education. But that is not what this post is about.
If one is computer savvy enough to use this forum , they should have no trouble googling any acronym they are not familiar with.
There are many acronyms in use as referenced in other post. They have been in use long before the internet.
Claiming this forum uses to many acronyms is unjustified.
If you hace access to a computer and google you have a resoucse to decipher most if not all acronyms.

Lol, this is funny. If you people are so obsessed with grammer, and spelling stuff out. Find a English language fourm. There are reasons for acronyms, one being typing on a phone. Its easier, as you dont have a large area. That also is the reason you see spelling errors. Hard to go back and re-read, and if you get interrupted, there isnt usally a save option. People are diffrent, if you dont like how they communicate, don't read it or block them. Its really not that hard. My spelling is a combo of fat finger typing on a phone and dyslexia. And , truth be told, i could care less what people think of my grammer and spelling or not spelling out on a site thats supose to be fun and entertaining. This isnt for a grade, or to hand in a monthly report at work. Have fun, and dont get all woked up for what really amounts to nothing in this day and age. Enjoy life.

This is a perfect example. Not having been in the military, I have no clue what the 6 P's are. Please enlighten me!

searched on 6 p's and this is what was found.

So I'd say it was still a perfect example.

When I don’t know what a word, phrase, or acronym is, I do this:
Select it, then from the pop up menu touch “Look Up”:
![[image]](https://i.imgur.com/T853rz5l.jpg)
This is what you get. Most of the time, I don’t need to go any further because the suggested websites have enough information displayed that I don’t have to actually go there. If it's a miss, touch the selection for your default web browser to “Search Web”.
![[image]](https://i.imgur.com/8I6T676l.jpg)
This is of course on Apple devices. I’d be surprised if the “other” phones, pads, and tablets weren’t just as smart.
