You're right, I just dismantled one to see the inner workings after it quit. Seemed like it was the pump that crapped out, but even turning it upside down and all other directions, about 1/2 cut of water remained inside.
Sounds like running vodka is the cheapest/best solution. I think I’d substitute bourbon to make the morning cup of joe a bit more fun [emoticon].

it doesnt work all the time either...... I found out the hard way.

nothing like flashing up the kurieg in the spring to a counter full of water [emoticon]
