BBC News last night mentioned freezing temperature in Florida and the danger of falling frozen ‘Igooannas’.
Gave me a chuckle.

"It’s Iguanas."

Yes, but the humor is in the incorrect spelling. [emoticon]

As an invasive species the state could pick them up and dispose of them.

They are not that bad tasting so I hear. They will eat everything in your garden and your other plants. I got a new expensive pellet gun and now all of the iguanas have been removed from my yard and I have been getting a lot of tomatoes this year from my garden. It has to get below 32 for the temp to kill them. 2013 was the last year we had a good freeze that killed a lot of iguanas and froze my garden.

Speaking of "igooannas", in my trips to Belize, I visited a small village on the banks of the Belize River called Flowers Bank. I talked to many of the teenagers there and conversation always led to what they did to pass time, no TVs or video games for them. They liked to go to the river, find a tree with a branch that hung out over the river. They would climb out on the branch and wait for iguanas to swim by, jump down on it, and wrestle to the bank, cut its throat and take home for supper. One of the older teens had the record for the longest, about 4 and a half feet from snout to end of the tail.
I never saw it, but with all the bragging going on, I guess it may have been about 3 feet, I did see a couple that were about that long. All of them seemed to like iguana meat, they said it tasted like chicken....

Interesting, must definitely try the iguana))
I often notice that different "exotic" meat: toads, crocodiles, snakes and so on taste like chicken, why so?
Do we really live in a matrix? [emoticon]

I guess chicken has a taste most people can identify with. Like turkey has it's own taste that most eat only 2-3 times a year. And in this country most don't eat exotic meats like other countries.

When was the last time you went to a fair and saw a few hundred fish on sticks over a pile of coals.
