Heater started sounding like a jet when propane came on... flame was way up in the tube. Suggestion was that the regulator was bad, flame shouldn't be up in the tube. Replaced regulator and problem went away for 2 weeks... next time used the heater, back to jet sound and flame up in the tube.. Installed another new propane regulator... Same problem the first time heater came on??? Any suggestions appr.

I don't think I can help but I do have some suggestions. Post this in the Tech section. Include as many relevant details as possible, including make of unit, original regulator and replacement.

Could be the air shutter on burner tube or debris in burner tube.

If you think the regulator is bad, start by making a manometer and checking it. I bet there is a bit on youtube for this.

Wellllll... found the problem, big end of the burner tube was rusted off. Supposed to be a baffle near the end where the flame comes out. New tube fixed the problem.
