Usually they're housed in permanent concrete structures and serve double duty as storm shelters during tornado outbreaks. That area gets tornados frequently enough I would be hesitant to camp there.

I was looking into going to the National Corn Bread Festival and doing the Lodge Factory tour and enjoying all the good eats they have. Nowhere to stay close by that has full hookups. Looks like Racoon Mountain is the closest. Who knows what gas prices will be though by the end of April.

Have you thought about looking just over the state line in Alabama? South Pittsburg sits right on that line.

According to the Allstays Map, there's a place that gets good reviews just outside the city limits called Shellmound TVA Campground. It's listed in Jasper. They have a FB page.

Due to an uncompromising wife I need a full hookup. As much as I plead with her to use a little less toilet paper I can't win that battle. I have been occupied battling clogs when emptying the black tank for longer than I have cared to be and have let my displeasure be known many times. Not only that she refuses to use any campground facility. That means I empty the grey tank like every 2 to 3 days....she uses lots of water. No way could I make a tank last to do without a full hookup...and I am not going to die on that hill in that battle. lol. I've stayed at Racoon Mountain before and it is OK. It also has a cavern you can go through. It's not deluxe but it is safe and secure and adequate.

Would you settle for just W&E? Or does it have to be FHU?
