I found a tire step on Amazon and it works perfectly plus it folds up and I lay it in the floor behind the driver seat in the truck. Check it out

I gave your steps a link. My issue is the hips on our DRW make it a bit of a reach, this works great. Unlike folding stool/steps, it won't kick out when you lean in.
I think I'll have to get one those you've put a link for. I will typically climb up on the outside dually tire to lock and unlock the hitch and then jump down. This will make it a lot better for my knees. I could see myself also using this on the front tire to get up to wash the windshield.

IMO 12V has the best idea/product, for the intended use!
My plain, simple, but multi tasking Rubbermaid step stool, with rubber slip free surface, works great for many things. I use it to clean bugs from windshield, as a table to hold my beverage/other items. It is an extra step, when 5th is parked on uneven ground. I keep it behind cab, in bed corner, upside down, with my chocks inside.
Made in America, as is 80% of Rubbermaid products!

Thanks! I put a lot of time into making it a functioning product.
My Dad bought the AMP and returned it as it mounted at the front of the bed. That got me thinking there had to be a better way.

I have one in my shop so if you come North of Seattle I will make you a great deal. The AMP step is useless as it mounts at the front of the bed so I created the perfect bed step IMHO.

That looks great; you should make up a bunch of them and sell them! I'm assuming that there must be a section of larger steel tube mounted to the frame that it slides in to?

my handle and such is right abovve the tire, so a side step wouldnt work unless I was trying to climb into the box. I just use the center hub of the rim and the tire top to climb up and stand on.

Makes me wonder if Steve's hitch is a brand X, rather than a fanboy hitch??
