I think getting up to 80 then drop down 322 thru State College area towards Harrisburg then depending where in Lancaster you're going which route from there; I know the tolls on the Turnpike are outrageous and not really sure how much longer this would be. DO NOT TAKE 30 especially after Breezewood.

28 north to 422 east. Then 22 to 283. We have traveled 22 as far as Raystown from near Reading pulling a travel trailer. Decent roads.

The quickest route is the PA Turnpike. But, the tolls are ridiculous.
Any other route will ad a couple hours to the trip.
Once you get to Harrisburg, PA 283 is the best route to Lancaster.

You could drop down I79 to Morgantown to I68 east to Hancock to I70 to Hagerstown to I81 to Harrisburg then PA581 to I283 to Lancaster. PA581 is not interstate but built to interstate standards. Non stop and usually light traffic until you get to Harrisburg. You could use US30 off I81 and make a stop in Gettysburg if you are so moved. Enjoyable drive either way. Enjoy the trip.
