I had an incident today on I-15 just north of Ogden UT. My 5th wheel required a mobile welder to repair a broken spring hanger. To my surprise, the rep said she couldn't find a mobile mechanic near me. Really? It took me all of 2 minutes with a Google search to get a mobile welder on the phone. How do I get reimbursed for the service charge?

Google search and a credit card have just about made roadside assistance obsolete.

Not quite. I'm paying for a service that could potentially save me lots of money.

Except in this case it resulted in nothing.

"RV ROADSIDE MECHANICAL REPAIRS- If necessary and whenever possible, depending on the RV disablement, there MAYbe a local mobile mechanic available that can perform minor repairs or adjustments to your RV. In these situations, we'll ATTEMPT to bring a mobile mechanic to your location as an alternative to towing your vehicle. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COSTS OF PARTS AND LABOR."

I hope you get reimbursed but based on the language in the contract I expect you'll be told to pound salt.

They are not going to pay for your repair. They might have paid for a tow if they could get somebody to do it for their price.
When I had my shop I talked with them about doing their RS but it barely would pay to start the truck. That is the reason they have problems sending help.
