The Alaska Highway is closed to traffic north of Liard Hot Springs in British Columbia, near the Yukon Territory border, after a section of the road collapsed due to flooding this week. The Cassiar highway should be a good bypass of this area.

It is long way back to the 37 if you are going north. Camping at Muncho Lake is a good alternative. Those going south, the Cassiar is a preferred direction anyways. Stuff happens in the north, be prepared.
