Sorry to hear of this about Camping World. I don’t believe it is their business model.

Or possibly Camping World just plain sucks, which they do, based on the 3 times I tried to make a major purchase from them at 3 different locations. OP, find a mom and pop dealer and stay far away from Camping World, Campers Inn, Meyers, General RV etc.

We were parked at our private Adirondack site earlier this year when I saw a new ~36' Class A pull up in front of a neighbor's house. He came out and talked to the driver for awhile was given the nickel tour of the inside and outside before the rig pulled out and drove away. A little later I saw the neighbor out walking and asked him what was up. He said he had called an area RV dealer to see if they had a unit that came close to his specs, and they did. He told them he couldn't get there for a day or two due to his wife being home sick, so the salesman offered to bring it to his house for him to check out. A couple of days later he told me he had gone to their shop and test drove the unit, they worked out a deal that he liked, and it would be ready to pick up in a week. As far as I know, they've been off camping with it regularly since as another neighbor said they come home for a few days and then are gone again.

The salesman will not give an out the door ptice. The sales manager might. CW is not good to deal with over the phone. They want you in the sales office.
A few years ago my DW and I found the used unit we wanted and went to the CW about 20 mies away to look at it. They had the price clearly mearked on the unit. I was ready to write the check and the salesman sterted stuttering and spitting, He litteraly did not know what to do. He almost ran out the door to get the sales manager. He returned and said we had to authorize a credit check, and fill out a loan application. I told him it was a cash sale. "Oh no, thats not the cash price, thats the finance price" WHAT??? They would not sell me the TT without financing it. We walked, rather ran. Never been to a CW since.
There are lots of RV dealers and lots of RV's, find a dealer that wants your busines

I bought a Winnebago from General RV in Jacksonville 2 years ago. I picked them because they had the lowest price on the Internet for the model I wanted and I negotiated down a few thousand more. I put down a deposit to hold it and the deal went through with no problems. I was on the other side of the country but I was willing to fly there and drive it back to save the difference compared to other dealers. I just go where the best deal is, within reason.

Reminds me of the story I read where a woman walked into a Mercedes Dealership wanting to buy a car and everyone ignored her except one new salesman. The woman come to find out was a multimillionaire even though she was not dressed for the part. Ended up buying 2 and paying cash. Lesson Learned

Very well could be. I do have a mild accent, and I wear flip flops when I am not in the office...
But hey, they are the ones who lost the chance to makes a $200K+ sale, because even if the owner of CW called me today, why would I buy from them knowing how well they treat their customers? I can only imagine what it could be to get a hold of the service guys to get a repair...
