What surge protector do you have? Many cut off power when volts drop to 104-105. This protects your systems from damage due to low voltage. Things working now does not mean it is defective. Removing it may put your systems at risk. Does the surge protector reset after being off for a while?

That's easy. I only quoted the key clue and the question.
First it's a PUP (Pop UP) so the odds it has an inverter approach ZERO. Now it has a converter (Device that makes 12 out of 120) but the Inverter (Does the inverse) no. that it won't have.
So when you are not "Plugged in" 120 volt outlets do not work. It's that simple.. It's "Working as designed". You don't normally find inverters as standard in RV's less than $100,000 dollars. (And I'm being very conservative. 200,000 might still be below the threshold)
The Big quarter million and up Diesel Pushers.. You might find one.
Why.. First you don't have the battery to run a big (Much over 100 watt) inverter.. oh a small one to charge up your cell phone or run your laptop yes. Even one big enough for a LCD tv.. yes.. But one big enough to run an Air Conditioner NO that takes more batteries than your trailer can hold.
