Any way to increase the threshold of what Garmin considers “sharp”? The gentlest bend generates a warning so as a true hazard alert it’s useless.
Also I’ve disabled it in the driver alerts settings but it’s still displayed. Unit has the latest software.

Check with garmin. But it is likely based on a "sharp curve" sign posted for the curve.

The way some Mario's drive today, it's probably a liability thing to save the nitwits that think they can drive and negotiate mild curves but end up in the swamp.

Most of the data for "curves," clearance etc. is derived from data that states/counties/etc. have in data bases for roads. so what one place considers sharp another might not. Add to that that some localities for tunnels have the edge clearance as the reference rather than lane clearance height. So i've found that GPS units, give clearance issues when there really isn't an issue.
As an example SR14 in western oregon tunnel clearance on the GPS was listed such that I didn't have clearance, yet I know that it is a common route for trucks and often used as the alternate route when I-84 is close. Driving down the road, yup, many clearance signs show the edge radius clearance outside the traffic lane NOT the overhead lane clearance.

I have the 785 and have the same exact issue. I have even received the sharp curve on a section of road where you could see straight for miles. Go figure

Not sure I entirely buy that theory. Maybe for clearances etc. but they literally have the gps coordinates of the road in front of me and know my direction of travel. A little Pythagorean math on the fly would work out the angle required for say the next 750yds.

yes that is possible, however the way most of the warnings and other information on a GPS are derived, such as sharp curve, clearance etc. is from DATA Navteq gets from local/city/state agencies about a road.
Another one that often pops up for us is restricted length. Since at least my Garmin RV doesn't let me put in truck length and then trailer length, but only overall length it has a data set incompatible with many length restrictions that restrict length based on TRAILER length, not overall. So at 60ft overall but a 35ft trailer I get restriction on roads that have max trailer length of 50Ft or so.

I purchased the first version of the Garmin RV GPS, the RV760, a number of years ago. It was a waste of $350. Between "RV accessibility unknown" all the time when you left the Interstate, and the database showing numerous campgrounds miles from where they're actually at the last straw was when it directed me to a bridge that was washed out 5 years prior, that was never going to be rebuilt. It made it to the next spring after one season of use and was then tossed in a drainage ditch somewhere between Beckley and Mullens WV.
I have a burn barrel in my yard.
