Although on many peoples' minds, I don't see much discussion. But I may have just missed it.

We sold our last toy hauler and F450 four years ago. Our youngest son started college so we figured we'd step back and punt. Use that money to help with college and save up for our next toy hauler just for me and the wife. I honestly figured (in 2018) that we would easily have been in another toy hauler by now. But then Covid hit.

I paid $72,000 for our Vengeance 40D12 in 2016. I paid just under $80,000 out the door for my 2017 F450 with the Ford extended warranty. Now, a similar toy hauler is at least $50,000 more and the truck is pushing $100,000 if you can find one. As badly as I miss it, I just can't justify this.

I don't think we'll ever see the prices I paid four years ago; especially on the campers. But will it get much better? Our dreams were possibly getting into a Luxe this time but now a Momentum, Valor, Cyclone, etc. are running around those 2018 Luxe prices. And now Luxe is hovering $250,000.

My biggest fear is if I give in and buy something, within six months the market crashes and I have horrible buyer's remorse. I know RVs aren't an economical investment but at the same time, I feel like I'm waiting to time the market like Bitcoin.

Any opinions on the future of RV pricing? The same thing for trucks?

Go smaller and lighter? For a hundred grand or so you can buy a good truck and toy hauler and get back to the camping you and your spouse enjoy.

Seems CW is doing a lot of advertising about buying used RV’s. Perhaps there is a lot of folks who bought them are dumping them, unless they have decided to live in them full time. Lot of folk are living in them as price of houses are ridiculous.

My thought is RVorices will slowly return to normal. It has not been long enough for RV makers tohave that fire sale your hoping for.
Auto prices will remain high as long as supply is low.Untul all the chip and supply chain issues are a thing of the past auto prices will remain high.

In my estimation the high cost of entry is an opportunity to find other ways to travel, while biding your time looking for a reasonably priced RV. Cruises, river trips, African safari, fishing trips, and other adventure style trips outside of the US would be good alternatives to an RV.

If you buy something right now, that's a strong possibility.

I firmly believe that the bottom is going to fall out of the RV market within the next 12-18 months - prices are going to drop, and product availability is going to get much better.

Now, pickup trucks? Who knows.

If money is scarce, buy used. Lower financial risk in a quality 10 year old trailer and truck.

Still too many stories of renters getting priced out and moving to an RV for me to think there will be a drastic RV price drop. Inflation is still running fairly hot.

In the Spokane, Washington market it's totally flooded! Normally by owner on Craigslist there are about 150 units for sale at any given time, but now it's consistently running about 450+ and there all overpriced. I think you will see prices coming back to earth sooner than later..Good luck with your search!

Why worry about that? If you are ready to buy now, then buy now and use the camper and truck. Next year something else may come up and delay things more.

Next year you might save some money - or more likely, the prices of campers don't go any higher and you feel you are saving money... BUT - you've missed a year of camping.

Campers and trucks, as has been discussed in every other thread on this forum, are far from an "investment property". If you are looking at value, campers and trucks are not in that category.

I'm not saying just blow your money on the most expensive stuff you see, but do your shopping around and price comparisons and buy now if you are ready.
