I gather from another thread that OP has sold his RV and moved on. I'm sure someone else will step up to perpetuate the EV panic.

Lots of these GEEZERS are still here, even though they have no RV! Grit being an Icon here for many years!! Even with his sarcasm, and memory loss, still a good source of info, and entertaining too!

Don't own (or want) an EV, but did own a Prius for several years and was impressed with that vehicle. Got good mileage at a time (2004 +) when gas was high. Got a tax break for purchasing it. Surprisingly roomy and a great commuter car (had a circa 25 mile one-way commute at the relevant times). Not a sports car by any stretch, but felt a lot more nimble than the then-tow rig (F350 DRW).

Wouldn't want a Prius now...don't want anything 2WD...and the value proposition simply isn't there for an EV.

The U.S. produces 15% of the world’s GHGs, transportation accounts for 27% of those emissions, and 57% of transportation emissions come from passenger cars and light duty trucks. That means if every car was an EV with batteries charged from a non-carbon emitting source, GHGs would be reduced by 2.3%. Only 39% of U.S electricity, however, comes from non-carbon emitting sources. Therefore, realistically, if every car in the U.S. was an EV, carbon in the world’s atmosphere would be reduced by less than 1%.

This is a quote from an engineer in a Fox News article.

That math assumes gasoline/diesel ICE emissions are equivalent to natural gas and coal emissions at power generators. You’ll find this assumption is not valid; for example natural gas emissions are lower than gasoline.

The DOE has done the math on this even broken down by state.
DOE: Emissions from Electric Vehicles

Take a look at the numbers for coal loving WV.

It is still an extremely small number IF all vehicles were EV.
