Now that a bit more time has passed, it seems that the former uber fervent ‘anti-Lithium camp’ has quietly gone dark (R.I.P.)… I take little comfort in this, except to say that the near continuous stream of unsubstantiated claims (mostly keyboard quackery) has expired, and without even a whimper…One might now rightfully conclude that Lithium (more specifically, LiFePo4) has apparently crossed the naysayer’s and market acceptance threshold ![[emoticon]](http://www.rv.net/sharedcontent/cfb/images/smile.gif "smile") JMHO only…

Ya, good luck with that. There will always be those that because LifeP04 has different operational requirements will use that as an excuse that they are no good. It is different and scary.

I agree!!! I have been using lithium for almost 4 years and was always amused by the lack of understanding on the nay sayers part. I have used them with a standard converter and with a lithium specific converter. My batteries are charged by solar when parked at home and they are always "full".

I use lithium ion batteries in my electric tools, other than that, I don’t own any lithium batteries. I suspect the vast majority of people are like me. If that constitutes acceptance than I guess you have a point; although I’m befuddled as to why you felt the need to make it.
Possibly you was only referring to “acceptance” by the solar/off grid battery RVers - which is a vast minority of the population?

Yep, this is why I specified the RV chemical formula referred to as ‘LiFePo4’…FWIW, there exist (via expansive search…), literally tons of past debate on this, both pro (from those sharing actual experience) and con…However (FWIW), I seriously doubt your assumption of “a vast minority of the population”…But admittedly JMO

I like not having to check the battery fluid levels with safety glasses on and not having to clean terminals and cable ends.

LOL - that funny...
On the plus side, there is technology coming that is recyclable, has similar charge, discharge properties to Lithium and doesn't use a chemical reaction to work. Tesla is even investing in this not so new, but emerging battery technologies.

I don't recall a fervent anti-lithium contingent.
The issue most had was more that the cost was hard to justify, especially when you had to do other modifications to accommodate the charge requirements. It's getting better but unless you need a large battery bank, it's still hard to justify over 6v golf cart batteries for most users.
