Li are great except in the cold. Part of the reason they do well is sophisticated battery management systems.

That said. Lighter. Better for most applications. Still has a problem with too hot/cold temps.. but they are working on ways to solve that (heaters solve the cold side)
For some things (When I replace the 300 amp hours of lead acid behind me here in the plastic safety container in my apartment (Emergency power system) LiFePO4 will be at the top of the consideration list).
But not sure I'd want to trust my car to it (20 below not good for 'em) 100+ not good either)

The issue most had was more that the cost was hard to justify, especially when you had to do other modifications to accommodate the charge requirements. It's getting better but unless you need a large battery bank, it's still hard to justify over 6v golf cart batteries for most users.
The only Anti Lithium cries that I recall are about the hypocrisy of the electric car promoters, who ignore the planet damage done by the mining activities for the Lithium, as well as the electric production methods.
No matter how you do it, the energy is not free, no matter how much you hope for something else.

You could replace the 3 car batteries stored in your apartment with a tin foil hat instead. Would be lighter yet, and much cheaper….

I would love to see the cost of LiFePO4 batteries come down, but I still think they are worth every penny.
I have 618 ah in 3 of them. How many golf cart batteries would I need for the same amp hours? And then there is the space and weight difference.

Well to the contrary Sir, your complement is undeserved….It was just a sudden observation, I merely articulated what’s now become obvious… Recall, the same thing happened in the 50’s with dishwashers, etc (a rejection precedes acceptance thingy…)…I just have a keen interest in history and observant of many historical trends…

I think the main Hangul was the price. Now that you can get decent LiFPo batteries in the $300 range they are a game changer. I was never against them, other than the price of $900 plus for the high end ones. Now that I can do 3 decent LiFPos for the cost of one high end battery it’s definitely worth the money for those of us that don’t full time or boondock.

Lead based paint has also been gone long before Newsom was an adult.
Yes speaking of pamphlets I have a required lead paint and lead hazard pamphlet required to include in my rental agreements.
The less lead exposure in my life the better. Especially hazardous to kids.
