There are thousands of EV RVers on the Facebook towing groups who are getting double that towing smaller, low profile and lighter trailers. There are lots of different sized RV’s. If you have a bigger trailer with a larger profile then stick with gas or diesel. Nobody is making you choose otherwise. But for those towing smaller RV’s you simply have a third option. Towing with an EV is a very good experience. Torque, power, centre of gravity and braking are just a few of the advantages of towing with electric.
Personally I think the towing ranges will double in the next 5 years. Maybe sooner.

As for nobody is making us choose otherwise... Where have you been?
Entire states are contemplating joining California in outlawing ICEs.Our government is taking actions to purposely drive up the price of fuel while trying to "put the oil companies out of business."(Biden stated exactly that.)
"Nobody is trying to make us choose EVs." Are you dreaming?
I'll wager that by 2035 you won't need to worry about a tow vehicle.

EV's aren't green and given the proposed nature of capitalism they wouldn't even gain any measurable market share. But between government mandates, subsidies and states beginning to adopt a future ban on ICE sales they are being pushed on consumers - like it or not. They aren't better, they just aren't. Not economically, not ecologically, and not based on current performance. Sure oil companies have gotten subsidies for years, but it's a straw man argument. EV's have been around longer than ICE's. They never had any market share. Guvmint steps in to strong arm it and all the sudden Elon musk is the richest man in the world. And it ain't from selling Teslas. Ford is cutting 3,000+ workers, and you've done nothing to solve for the ecological impacts and economic dependencies this was packaged to solve for. And let's not forget, when you replace one product with another, that other should be better. It's not. I am not anti-ev, but let capitalism and fair market decide. After all, we aren't saving the planet. This is an agenda, plain and simple. But EV's aren't better and they aren't green.

Here -
CA has written it into law, as of 2035 it will be illegal to purchase a new gasoline car..
Other states:
Among them, Washington, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon and Vermont are expected to adopt California's ban on new gasoline-fueled vehicles. Colorado and Pennsylvania are among the states that probably won't.
This is MY issue... don't all out BAN... This is the USA, allow us to choose our ride.... There are plenty pieces of the pie for all of us to have what we want..
I MAY own a Tesla one day, my buddy has one and it is bad ass, BUT not for my tow vehicle.
That's 15 years away. You can still buy anything you want and the law can still go through changes by future administrations.
Just to be clear: the law says "emission-free" and doesn't specify electric.
Quote: The rule, issued by the California Air Resources Board, will require that all new cars sold in the state by 2035 be free of greenhouse gas emissions like carbon dioxide. The rule also sets interim targets, requiring that 35 percent of new passenger vehicles sold by 2026 produce zero emissions. That requirement climbs to 68 percent by 2030.
Transportation is the nation’s top source of planet-warming greenhouse-gas emissions.

does it really make sense to spend a ton of money to be able to go 10mph faster up a hill? It's not what I expect, it's what the specs say. From the website specs: "Speed Up a 5% Grade=Highway speed limit"
No, but it may make sense if it goes up a hill 30-40mph faster. Trucking companies are always looking for ways to get there faster.
As the pickup EV tow testing showed, climb the ike at full speed and you use up electrons really fast. Getting to the top 5 min faster only to stop for 2hr to replace those electrons isn't very cost effective.
Diesels likewise can put the hammer down and go faster up grades but it's cheaper to go a bit slower all things considered.

I think perspective needs to look at the RV market segments.
- While very small teardrop trailers are out there, they make up a very small percentage of the market.
- Also, from past posts Reisender covers relatively few miles per day and is on a fairly relaxed schedule.
If it meets his needs, that's great but this is very far from typical for RVs.

^All good points, and Mr. Reisender has a setup that works well for him and the Mrs.
Although, I agree with your post. Driving home on Thurs/Fri nights westbound, it's a literal line of RVs of all shapes and sizes heading east for the weekend.
The vast majority are much larger than a midsize car pulling a canned ham. And the destinations, based on all the recent real world EV towing reports would require 1 or 2 charges to get to the destination that evening....IF the owners downsized tow vehicles considerably from what they're already towing, to smaller 5-6klb trailers and ditched the Class Cs and As pulling boats and toys, etc.

The Californian law doesn’t affect pickups over 8500 GVWR. If you prefer a larger RV you’ll still be able to buy a gas or diesel truck to tow it in 2035.

Life is too short for this. Calling troll on this one.
Sounds like you don't like me posting about tow vehicles in a public tow vehicle forum.
That's fine because you are in luck. See the hide button on the right side of the screen? Just click on it and you won't have to see my threads anymore.
