Bryan Dealership is right here in our home town. Rumor has it, he's not the best place to buy. I looked at his new Subaru a couple years ago, he low-balled my trade, and added $2000 above MSRP to the price. And that was pre-covid, when the MSRP was still a bargaining price for subtracting from it to get the sale price.

I'm not going to bad-rap that dealership any more than to say, I'd never buy a vehicle from either dealership he owns.

Thx for clicky - I try it, but it never seems to exhibit as a clicky [emoticon]

I can't understand how this happens at a dealer, unless they are slimeballs. Does no one check the vin? Did they buy it at auction?

Anyway, scary stuff

I hope the settlement they agreed to was the down payment back and closing of the loan with no money out of their pockets!

Typical American Greed. Not surprising. I have always done a very thorough VIN search plus other history search including visual inspection of VIN plate and door plate of all my trucks and trailers because of dishonest dealers just about everywhere. Made sure numbers on paper work matched actual VIN and door plate. Trust Us We are Your Good Neighbors, yada yada yada.

The bank hasn’t responded? Does the bank believe this family is “in” on the theft? I’m wondering if a bank employee was involved. Some lenders get very cozy with dealerships and salespeople.

Yeah but getting that settlement is probably going to cost more than paying off the truck and walking away...

Putting 10-ply tires on half ton trucks since aught-four.

Most times, settlements require a NDA ... but, one could probably find out if one lives local to that dealer and buyer. [emoticon]
