For those of you that have towed with both the High Output Cummins and the regular Cummins was the HO worth the extra $2800?

Yes, as a bonus you get the Aisin HD transmission.

The HO engine has a little lower compression ratio, so, the regular output will be a little better on fuel when not towing. How often will you be towing and how much weight?

That depends on the year model and whether or not a CP4 injection pump is involved.

Well Ram decided to go back to the CP3, and issued a recall on all 2019 and 2020 Rams with the CP4 to replace with the CP3.

All you have to do is hope yours gets fixed before it fails. ![[emoticon]](http://www.rv.net/sharedcontent/cfb/images/smile.gif "smile") That was one of the reasons I didn't look at anything newer than a 2018 when I bought.

I would say the HO engine point is moot but the transmission may be worth the upgrade.

The Aisin might be better but I regularly tow 15 K in the mountains with my 68 RFE and I give it hail! I fear nothing about this transmission!
