Or maybe here already:
We just traveled from Livingston to Pensacola and were taken aback by the diesel prices vs gasoline. Over $1.50/gal. Both are outrageously high. As we left Texas we saw a $4.34 price, but once across the Louisiana line they jumped to over $5 and stayed there thru LA, MS and AL. MS had rather cheap, comparatively speaking prices this summer as we passed thru. No more.

Even in FL prices hovered around the $5 mark even on the NAS base.

I have not seen any discussion of this but there is a major diesel shortage getting started. Remember that diesel and fuel oil used for home heating are essentially the same product and are competing for the same feed stock.

Semi's, farmers, diesel pickups and the NE fuel oil users ate about to be slammed.

Major oil company warning

I haven't seen anything below about $4.50 in VA all year. I filled up both of my tanks Friday for $4.99 which was the cheapest I could find. This morning that same station was at $5.10. I'll probably top it off again tomorrow and maybe a 5 gallon can.

I hope we don't start seeing a lot of hoarding. That just leads to less supply and higher prices.
