The ac unit in my travel trailer has a filter that I clean periodically. Does my furnace have a filter? I've never opened the compartment that houses the furnace.

highly unlikely. I've yet to see a RV furnace with a filter. They may exist, but if so are pretty rare.

The AC has coils and fins that can get obstructed by dust and dirt floating in the air. The furnace does not have coils and fins to get obstructed.

No. Filters would obstruct the air flow and cause overheating.

I've never seen one that did. But, I'm used to older units. Maybe some of the new ones have one ???

No filters.
It's the reason I gotta clean my sail switch periodically because I got dogs that shed. ??

I put a window screen on the back side of the intake grate to keep some dog hair from entering. It has worked very well with very little air flow restriction. No problems
