Reisender researched this before he posted it, so seems legit to me. No reason to question the validity.

His answer was no. But thanks for the link to the 3rd party independent verification. Thank you

Here's video put out by Tesla for a fully loaded 500 mile run. I do find it interesting there's no passenger seat.

I find it interesting what is "fully loaded." Is it fully loaded with Mike's my pillow pillows? Is it fully loaded to gross max weight? Is it fully loaded to volume? Is 10,000 lbs net fully loaded?

Words matter...

I find it interesting the route was never mentioned. I get pretty good fuel mileage when I measure my mileage at the top of the Ike grade going down hill. Now going up the Ike...

Ah but does your fuel tank refils on the way down !?

Tesla bateries do get recharged going downhill. Can you say free energy? I knew you could [emoticon]

Heres the full delivery vid.
Somewhere around 16 min is the good stuff

I did read an article about the semi's video, and the guy commented about the lack of information about the actual speeds. He commented that several times the speed was shown as being below 50 mph, and the first quarter of the video, the speedometer was obscured a lot of the time. I wonder what the average speed was for the route, or did I miss that? How long did it take, which would give you a decent idea of average speed.

I all fairness even Bill Gates said an EV Semi Truck was not practical.

Should know a lot more details in the next 6 - 12 months. Too bad the original thread had to be destroyed.

The test was in CA where the truck speed limit is 55 mph. Although most trucks still run 55-70.
Some mention very strictly about the GVWR legality may as well stick to the speed limit too.

As an fyi the Modesto facility of Pepsi is a Frito Lay facility. It’s the only place they installed Megachargers so far.

I would assume the "testing" is done carefully, with speeds and loads at the optimum to give good numbers.

No different than gas vehicles - I've never had a gasoline vehicle get the fuel mileage that was on the window sticker.

I have to bet if the same driver did the 500 miles, the average speed was over 45 MPH. On camera driving over 11 hours would open driver and company to fines and other restrictions. Back when the double nickel was nation wide if we logged over 450 miles in 10 hours the company would warn us we might be audited by feds.
But I have to wonder if they could make the 11 hours out of battery if working for the 62-65 top/50 average speed that most freight companies expect.

Is it a production facility? Or just distribution? Do they backhaul materials into the plant?

I guess Rivian beat them to the street. Rivian Amazon vans have already started deliveries in the Seattle area. Not that these are the same size, but for electric delivery vehicles, it looks like Rivian was first to make deliveries.

As a reminder, the GM division BrightDrop delivered 5 Zevo 600s last December (December 2021) and an additional 145 in Q1 and Q2. So FedEx has been using electric delivery vehicles from GM.
