My rig is 12 years old and it has 2 original Fantastic Fans. I want to put covers over these and I'm not sure what to get. Seems my fans are discontinued and the current covers are for more current fans. For example, apparently some new fans have mounts for covers; mine don't.

I bought a cover for the manual bath vent and with it installed, I won't be able to open the vent completely. Less so for FF as I think the vent opens even higher. Also, the vertical part of the FF is plastic - not sure how the brackets would screw into that (the bathroom manual fan is metal).

I don't have access to any of the FF mounting screws as they covered in thick sealer.

Any suggestions?

I have a Maxxair cover. There are different ones, so go to their site and choose the one you need. I got mine in 2012 and still excellent shape, but dirty at the moment.

Perhaps I'm particularly dense, but I've been on the Maxxair site and can't tell which one will work. Dometic has a lid too.

I have the older Fantastic Fan,installed 2010 and I use the New Maxx Air Fan mate.

The new Maxx Air Fan Mate 955 like this is taller than the others, has no screen and I have no problem with my Fantastic Fan,which BTW the cover is designed to stop when it hits anything.

I like the clips, they make it easy to open and clean the vent cover, unlike the others that you have to unbolt to clean or replace the vent lid Maxx Air Fan Mate

This video will walk you thru the install. The part you will need is near the end, about the 3.30 time.

I like the max air, I like the screen as it keep **** out of the fan screen and is easier to clean.. plus you can leave it open during a rain storm and nothing will come in..

Screen has nothing to do with rain coming in.

Fans have a screen why add another and reduce the air flow??? Watch the above video! Fantastic cover is angled more and much less likely to get any water inside than the others.

The video for fantastic vent is pretty convincing airflow wise but when I type the URL at the end of the video fantasticvent.com, it just goes to the Dometic site.

Is the Dometic Ultra Breeze Cover Assembly the same thing? Looks like it.

Looks like you had to scrape away the lap sealant and locate original screw holes for this. Correct?
