The video for fantastic vent is pretty convincing airflow wise but when I type the URL at the end of the video fantasticvent.com, it just goes to the Dometic site.

Is the Dometic Ultra Breeze Cover Assembly the same thing? Looks like it.

Yes. Dometic acquired the Fantastic brand.

One thing about that video is that it is several years old and only compares the Fantastic vent cover to the MaxxAir regular cover, not the MaxxAir Fan Mate.
Which is taller than the Fantastic, letting the vent lid open more fully to get more air in,covers more area as it is longer and has no screen, that is an option.

The real big thing is that you don't have to dig into your sealant to install it as shown in the other pictures,it attaches to the fan housing wall. As shown in the install video.

Anytime you mess with the roof and its sealant you always risk a leak.

That is why they call it the Zero Leak mounting system.

Several years ago I decided to try a vent cover. I got a cheap $25 Camco and affixed it with Dicor sealant. It keeps rain and debris from blowing under the simple fantastic fan cover. I can also leave the vent open when I am driving. Previously the wind would make the plain cover flap back and forth harshly. At this point, I am happy with the Camco and it seems to be holding up well.

"Looks like you had to scrape away the lap sealant and locate original screw holes for this. Correct?

Yes I did to do the best possible job. I have done the other system where you have to attach mounting brackets to side of fan housing. I like the Fantastic system MUCH better!

"The real big thing is that you don't have to dig into your sealant"

Going on 8 years now still no leaks, when will the "big thing happen???

Screen has nothing to do with rain coming in.

Fans have a screen why add another and reduce the air flow??? Watch the above video! Fantastic cover is angled more and much less likely to get any water inside than the others.

actualy it does if the wind is blowing from that direction, the screen will stop most of the rain drops. the Max air is so over sized in the screen area your not adding any restriction realy, I could see a smaller one. I do all my vents, not just the fantastic fan ones, so I also want them all to look the same and all the vents to fully open.

now having read the viseo I havent seen that one befor and it looks like a copy of the ones I get with louvers instead of a screen. the ones I thought you were discussing were thoes low profile modern ones mad spicificly for going over the fancy fans haha..

I found a 3-pack of fantastic vent hoods for $500+ and thought "That's wildly expensive" until I found a single fantastic vent hood for about $600!

While I think the fantastic vent hood is the best, I think I'll buy the MaxxAir Fanmate which is available at a reasonable price.
