"hot shots all run Dodge/Ram cummins because they're the best"

Here we go again!!! NEVER said "ALL" I have said most. NEVER said they were the "BEST".

Must be fun putting words in peoples mouth. Seems like truth will net you more credibility.

Bottom line is this hotshot owner has a lot of experience with Ram trucks so thought this would be more credible as your response would be predictable.

I work at a dealer an I’ve only seen one Aisin failure. I see far more emmisions failures than anything, DPF, sensors, etc!
Before I bought the MH I was looking for a 6.4 gas truck specifically to get away from an issue while on the road.

You are SPOT ON!!! I personally know a Top Mechanic and the Parts Manager at my local Dealer, they say the same.

So YOU had the only Aisin failure in your dealers history? Lol
Very ironic…

Lol , and you know they are all telling the truth, that's amazing only one failure per dealership. [emoticon]

Lol and after your recent dealer experience (on CF.com) you have the most reason to be skeptical! That was some next level stuff!

i have owned all of the big 3. my 96 dodge was a nightmare. that does not mean i would not buy another one.
i keep an open mind and pick the one i feel is best at the time. last time it was an easy call. after living under the cp4 cloud for 9 years, i did not want another one. GM was the only choice at the time.

Bad shocks at 60k that's a non issue. Unlikely any standard OE shocks are good past that many miles. Ball joints at 60k, I highly doubt it. He should show the evidence of this. My 15 DRW that tows much more weight than his truck and over 1/2 of my 102k is towing the ball joints are tight.

Cabin fever is getting bad in Katy TX apparently.
And, yeah, the “ball joints are shot” ruse by alignment and repair shops is now decades old. (Maybe older but the internet didn’t let folks share with the world until aboot 20 years ago)

I had one of those trucks “with bad ball joints” at like 70k miles. Took for an alignment, unrelated to ball joints. Got the call, “we can’t align anything but the toe since your ball joints are worn out.” Lol
Well you could adjust caster but I told you don’t fck with those adjusters and you’re right, you can’t adjust camber…..nor could you ever as it’s not “adjustable” per se. But thanks for asking.
About 100k later. Thought I had another alignment issue and unable to look over the vehicle myself, too busy. Have wife take it for an alignment. Same thing as previous time years earlier. Except this time the shop also “couldn’t get the tie rod adjuster loose”. Gonna news ball joints and a new tie rod (not sloppy btw).
At least that mechanic leveled with me after the service dork tried upselling me. The toe was aboot perfect and he suggested it could be a bad tire.
It was. Swapped tires front to rear when I got time and the “alignment” issue disappeared.
Sold at 190k miles and tires were still wearing straight as a board and drove fine.

Yes ball joints can and do wear out. However many shops use the small amount of acceptable axial play as a mechanism for selling more parts n labor. Period.

Good warning to those who aren’t as savvy. If your camber is les than maybe 0.2 deg, the BJS ain’t wore out.

I also went with GM. Its all a compromise. While I am content with my choice. I believe GM has an inferior interior compared to the others.
I was willing to suffer with the spartan interior order to get better reliability and a stellar warranty.
Only time will tell if I made the right choice.
My last Duramax made it to 300K with limited problems.
I want to emphasize limited problems, not zero problem.
Meanwhile it seems it's the Ford guys and Ram guys who can't decide who has the better or worse trucks
