WE have been RVing for over 40yrs. Currently on Class A number 4
Number three had the same problem but less mileage 32,000.
Number four has 63,000 miles four cracked bolts and two cracked manifolds.
From what I understand this is a fairly common problem, because of excessive heat.
That being said, labor, two new sets of bolts and two new manifolds around 4,300 hundred.
Ford V10 F-53 engine.
just wondering of other experiences and cost quotes thx and stay safe.

we had the ford v-10 in our 2000 Itasca Suncruiser. we blew a plug somewhere around 35K. thankfully that occured when we were about an hour from home returning from a lengthy trip. we got home on 9-plugs engine sounding like a jackhammer. no other damage as I recall.

OMG haha, that’s complete robbery…
Book time is probably around 8 hours total for both sides and a couple hours for bolt extraction if they’re froze in. Usually aren’t imo.
Manifold set is $400-800 depending on the quality.
So around 2 grand giver take full retail at $150/hr.
But I’ll do it for $3999 if you bring it over. Hell, you can take one of my cars for the day if you want!

So, . . . what year is this Ford V-10/MH? What is the GVWR? What is the actual operating weight? What is the length? Do you tow? What is your normal driving speed? Do you use 87 octane(min) fuel? Have you modified the ECU/engine/transmission/exhaust/driveline in any way?
Just a few questions before Ford gets sent to the gallows. (again)

ford forum has this thread about V-10 bolts.
I would find different shop. Upgraded bolts are available. If manifolds are damaged, I would be looking at tubular headers,

Sure. Never better. Clearly, you are approaching this issue from the grease pit side of things. (Where I have spent many hours as well) I'm approaching it from the engineering side of things where I have also spent many hours.
Cheers! Go ahead, . . . . repair the damage. My approach is to, . . . . solve the problem first. Then, . . . . fix the damage. If you just fix the damage without solving the problem, IMO, you're just kicking the can down the road. (and putting a few $$$$ in your pocket)
