AS to too long chains. JUST TWIST THE CHAIN UNTIL YOU GET THE CORRECT LENGTH. Doug

You will need to get an equalizing hitch to tow that correctly and safely. You may also be beyond the tow capacity of your car.

Howdy. Many Audis are not rated for weight distribution hitches and Audi recommends against them for those models. Common for mid size or smaller SUV’s. Not sure about the OP’s Audi.

It’s a single axle trailer; I’d be more concerned about the payload rating and tow rating of that car vs. the tongue weight and GVWR of that trailer. Clicky

Totally Agree! I'm betting that the loaded tongue weight is exceeding the car's max hitch weight.

Not sure if it’s a Q7 or not. I helped a fellow setting up his Q7 for a T@B 400. The tow info table covered a few configurations and went from 4400 to 7700 pounds towing capacity and 440 to 770 pound hitch weight. He had no problem with the T@B but don’t know what this trailer is for weight. Point is it may be fine depending on the cars options. A weight distribution hitch was specifically not recommended so probably not an option for the OP.

I have an Audi Q5 2018 and according to the specifications, it seems to be capable of handling a 440-lb tongue weight.
Can the 2018 Audi Q5 Tow?

My trailer is called a Viking Saga 16sfb 2017, and I cannot find the specific characteristics for my year of production. However, for the new models of 2022, the Hitch Weight appears to be 363 lbs. If I understand correctly, this falls within the specification range.
Specs for 2022 Coachmen - Viking Saga Floorplan: 16SFB

The towing capacity of my car is 4,400-lb, which should be enough to cover the GWVR of 3,675-lb that my trailer has.

Please correct me if I am wrong about anything. It's all new area for me

That sounds quite logical. I will try that if the problem persists after installing a different hitch. Thank you!

Hi Neu. Probably best to weigh the hitch after it’s loaded as well. Some trailers get quite a bit heavier on the hitch after battery and propane are added. Try to pack accordingly to keep the hitch weight under control. Front storage compartments are nice but if you are struggling with hitch weight maybe pack the light stuff up front.

Happy camping. [emoticon].

Do not twist the chains. Replace the hooks with clevis hooks, they will let you adjust the length of the chain.
