Alas no pic but your remote switch is an SPDT center off.
The controller is just a box with six wires to it
Positive (Battery) Negative (Ground) In/Out (Control) and the two motor leads

The motor is a PM type which means you feed it power one way it extends the other way it retracts.
There are no limit switches or sensors other than a current sensor in the controller.. When the motor stalls due to the slide reaching end of travel the current increases so the controller shuts off till the control switch is released.

If your controller is bad I can (And have) design a different controller but I caution that when my home made system got crunched due to being mounted in a bad spot it cost me 900 dollars for a new motor.

Home was where I park it. but alas the.

after a semi "nicked" it. Still have the radios

I have two controllers they look the same one operates the left side of the slides the other operates the right side. The wires have two laces to plug into on the top and tow on the bottom. Two slides work okay but one slide sometimes has one coming in and the other her going out. Not sure if I have them plugged up n correct
