Bagman,

Somehow I do not think that is the reason. Many people get them that does not even use email.

How are you doing?

Chuck, while I was on vacation I got only 2 emails from you with the same headings as before. I deleted them. I also had 8 emails from someone else on the forum (can't remember who) but they had the exact same headings as yours. I deleted them also.

Since then I have not received any emails from you or the other person. I have just decided to not open ANY email unless I KNOW who it's from. And of couse keep norton running at all times.

I know you didn't cause this yourself, but it's sure frustrating when something like this happens. I think everyone should be more aware of the dangers of getting a virus.

Hi Frank, You're right, I didn't e-mail you lately. Like you, we are also running the Norton's and we changed our e-mail address at work. Futhermore, I deleted all the addresses from our address file. From what I'm hearing, this virus situation is slowing way down. I only wish that the virus would have picked up another person's e-mail address other than mine. I think the worst is behind us and for the most part, the forum members were smart enough not to attack one onother especially since most of the attacks would have come in my direction. But, if this comes up again, any member getting virus infected e-mails from any address, that member should warn the rest of us. Chuck (Bagman).

Norton Anti-Virus is the best I've found and one needs to keep a subscription updated. We used it as the major contractor to NASA. It might look expensive, but the alternative way outweighs that cost.
I really hate to say this and I hope it's just coincidence, but all my virus-infected mail stopped when I deleted my e-mail address from these forums. Fingers crossed.

Hey Chuck, don't worry about it. I knew it didn't happen on purpose. It can happen to any of us. Two people at work got a virus within the last two weeks due to email and it had nothing to do with this forum or anyone on it! Just someone out there using their hacking skills!

Howdy,

Is an E-mail about Big Hooters, considered to be a Virus, or is that just a Fever??? LOL...

You should always be scared of virus's. Norton updates their definition files when they need to. I have seen as many as 3 in one week.

I stand corrected. This from their web site.
Symantec updates the LiveUpdate virus definitions for Norton AntiVirus on a weekly basis; therefore, we suggest running LiveUpdate at least once a week.

NOTE: The new definitions are generally posted each Thursday. In the event of a rapidly spreading threat, they will be released through LiveUpdate as soon as they are available
