MSBRAG, I knew about the 65 foot restriction in Michigan but was glad you mentioned about the RV Endorsement, I had forgot about it. Is their a list of length restrictions posted for all the states ? Are most states 65'?

Thanks again

MSBRAG, FYI, I just left the Secretary of State, got my Recreational Double Endorsement and found out the new total length of all three units, pickup truck, 5th wheel and second trailer cannot exceed 59 feet.

Regarding attachment of the hitch receiver to the 5th wheel...

I just got one welded to mine about 4-5 weeks ago. No pics, but I'll describe it. Welder removed the trailer bumper and replaced it with a similar length of 4" square steel tubing. It looks the same but is considerably thicker (quarter-inch, I think). The receiver was welded to this, and all painted to match the original. I pull a 21ft boat (approx 3800 lbs) with it. This is our second fiver rigged to pull the boat, and both are very stable. Hope this helps some...

I used to tandem-tow (hence my username), but my trailers grew too big.

I'll try to remember to take a pic of how mine was welded on this weekend.

3311, the current regulations in MN are; a total length of the 3 units is 65 feet with the 5th wheel length not to exceed 28 feet.

3311, I tow jet skis or a utility trailer with 4-wheelers and bikes on it with no problems behind my 5th. There should be absolutely no problem with what you are wanting to do.

I would like to know for the ones who are towing with 5th wheel & trailers (tandum), does your 5th wheel actual have a rating for GCWR (Gross Combination Wieght Rating)allow for towing a trailer or tow vehicle. I have only seen models that have zero rating.

Gearman, It is good to hear the positve comments. You simply don't see that many 5er's towing something behind them.

Thanks again for your response.
