Just got back from a weekend trip and saw a 5th Wheeler pulling a trailor. I've never seen that before. Is that legal? I think the license plates were from Iowa if that matters.

Correct , small number of states it's legal but not in California that's for sure.WE were in NM last Oct and saw a truck with a camper towing a travel trailer towing a boat. Had to make a double take on that.

I saw a guy doing that same thing in Western WA. A trooper pulled him over and started measuring the length. Didn't find out if he got a ticket for overlength.

Michigan is legal up to certain length and you have to take a test at the Sec. of State for a special endorsment on your license

Se it all the time in IL. I belieave you have be in the 65' limit. Most common it P/U Trk,5th, and a Bass Boat.

We do it! It is legal here in South Dakota with a maximum length of 75 feet.

Diesel Dave, I see 5th wheels pulling trailers all the time in Southern CA. Some on this forum say it's not legal and some say it is but the total length can't be over a certain figure.
Maybe Mark Smith can shed some light on this.

Its legal in Texas as long as the overall length doesn't exceed 65 feet.
