RE: Tucson to Yosemite

Either route is good. After 120 is opened and it could be early this year I would say 395 to 120. Just because you see so much more of the park that way.

RE: Where can I get these

I would try a local upholstery company. They may be able to recover the old ones or use them as sample to make new ones. Just a thought.

RE: WHOA! What I surprise!

Hang in there Randy. It will get better. I had the same problem switching from a TT to a 5er. Had three 5ers before going to the MH. We are thinking of going back to a 5er now.

RE: Why RV?

Love the pic, but watch where you step! We camped in tents and RVs for years because of our love the outdoors. That love hasn't gone away but for various reasons we've chosen other means to enjoy the sights around this country-and others. We tent camped on our honeymoon-drove from MA to SD to WY to CO back to SD then home. Our favorite memory is camping in Custer State Park and having the bison sleeping not far from us, although it was a bit scary. The last big tenting trip we took before our son was born brought us through SD, WY, MT, and Banff and Jasper in Alberta. It was late in the season-end of August/early Sept-and we shared the campground with about 3 other tents and a herd of female elk with their offspring. It was absolutely amazing! Many years ago I backpacked the length of Catalina Island. We were camped on a meadow next to the beach. When I woke up in the morning a herd of buffalo was walking through camp. They went to the beach and were actually bouncing around and playing in the surf. One of my most memorable moments from the trip.

RE: Why RV?

The pictures say it all. This country has so many varied thing to see you can't possibly see them all. We love to get out and see as much as we can. you can see we have a few states to visit yet but we have only seen small areas of the states we have been in. Yes we have had gripes, problems and breakdowns but the good out weighs the bad.

RE: CA Registration only took 7 months.....

It took us two years to convince CA we did not live there any more. we sent license plate numbers copies of registration repeatedly to the to no avail. we even got threatening letters to suspend of license's. Finally we just stopped responding. I guess they finally figures it out. Have not gotten a letter from DMV for a year or so.

RE: choosing a Class C

To each his own. Everyone has a different opinion. We love our slide out and would not consider a rig without one. We have had a 5er and a MH with them without a lick of trouble. It's great when the weather turns bad, you don't have to squeeze by each other. We do like a separate bedroom for sleeping. No one has to climb over the other to get out. Go to a dealer sit for a while in each one. Pretend you are doing normal things and see if it fits. If it doesn't feel natural move on.

RE: Can't get better...

I love Brookings. I grew up on the Oregon coast and like getting back whenever possible. We just came back from Death Valley.

RE: Where you going over spring break??

What a bummer!!!! in 2012 for my b'day celebration had Gall bladder removed, then for Christmas had a hernia repaired last year about 8 weeks of camping, then for the 65th b'd in Sept. spent a month @ Camp Gulf in Destin (not included in the 8 weeks, Then this year been out for one week already and for the fun of it will just stay home and recover from my spring break??? having C-4 and 5 repaired and 3-6 fused together. No camping till June or July :(. For all you unlucky ones be safe enjoy and have enough fun for me. I will make up for it in August/Sept. on the western tour. P.S. Tell all your loved ones in the service to our country to be sure they GET and keep a copy of thier medical records... Experience talking here, cracked my neck in 1969 fought the Coast Guard till '82 and VA till August of 2013. Now have 30%, and still having to find more information from NOW closed medical centers/medical storage facilities. BUT THIS TOO SHALL PASS with the help and blessings from HIM above. I will be sure and tell my son about the medical records. He has two months to complete his twenty. Thanks for the tip.
