RE: Campgrounds in/near Reno?

I like Gold ranch in Verdi. Davis creek is nice but a bit of a drive but it is forested. No hookups there if that's a concern. Right in Reno is the grand sierra resort casino. They have a park. No trees but right in the middle of things including all the restaurants there. They give a good discount to veterans as well.

RE: Portland, OR help

Closest nice place is probably going to be Champoeg State Park. X2 we enjoyed our stay here.

RE: prayers needed

A quick update. Talked to the Doc. The liver biopsy came back inconclusive. They want a ct scan now. Hopefully this is good news. Huntsman cancer Institute next week. visited the lab earlier. I got Lisa. She is one of those that can poke you and you won't feel it.

RE: Help-need a hobby!

my wife and I do civil war reenacting. you can join an infantry unit. March around the field and shoot yankees or rebs. Carry a musket around a few hours and it's pretty physical. You learn a lot of history as well.

RE: Getting Divorced at 40 w/ 2 daughters aged 6 and 3

Sorry to hear that. My daughter is going through a similar experience. She moved out after he left on Christmas day. Once she was gone he moved back in with his twenty three year old girlfriend. Fourteen years down the drain.

RE: Does this sound okay? Lassen/Redwoods plans

I will add my two cents with another comment about manzanita CG. We stayed there a few years ago and totally enjoyed the camp.

RE: Looking for a place in northern Arizona

Trust me on this - been there many times and know the area well - you want to be at Trailer Village. You do NOT want to be in Williams as it is - like has been said - 50 miles away of nothing to see drive and then you have the hassle of getting thru the gate and hopefully finding parking. If you truly want to SEE the G C you need to be there when you can witness sunrises and sunsets and have tram transportation right from your rv area. x3 The shuttle system serves the CG area and you can take it to see various places rather than driving everywhere and trying to find parking. 100% correct.

My son left his TT unlocked beside his home. When he needed to get something out of it apparently some homeless person had been using to sleep in. It remains locked now.

RE: Death Valley

I've done it towing a 5er, it was, well, cool. Rain when we went over the pass that changed to snow while we were in Lone Pine. I don't recommend it, period. This forum has a former CalTrans employee that strongly does not recommend it. That retired caltrans employee would be me. May Temps in the valley will be hovering around one hundred degrees. I have seen hone hundred twenty degrees at nine in the morning. Mid seventies at night. It just isn't worth the risk. That road is hard on RV's hot brakes and overheating are common and I have seen them on fire. Help is a long way away.
