We are planning a trip to Disney soon. Would appreciate any info regarding the sites and best loops to stay in. We are looking for a loop close to things but not right up on everything. Want to be in site away from the busses. Loop 800 looks pretty nice on the site map. Would appreciate any info.
Thanks,
Rhonda & Tim

Just got back last week. We stayed in the 1400 loop. Sites were good, but some had a tougher angle than others. About 1/3 of the loops were closed. Seems they open them as the crowds get bigger. Overall VERY nice. I am sure you will enjoy.

actually the closed loops are due to remodeling of the comfort stations, they are makeing those comfort stations very purty with fancy tiles and new flooring, new partitions etc, while the comfort stations are closed the loops that they service are also closed for rehab - tree triming, landscape etc.

We LOVE Fort Wilderness campground!!! We RV with our 4 year old - so we usually request the 1300 loop - it's close to the pool and has a playground. We've also stayed in the 700 loop - it's convenient to the petting zoo/pony rides, River Country, and the boat launch to the Comtemporary and monorail. The sites are all a good length - but some sites you have to work around trees if you want to put an awning out.

Floridagirl-
I just got a postcard in the mail yesterday from Disney for Florida residents from 8/25/02 to 8/29/02 and 9/02/02 to 10/02/02 for $24 a night. It's suposedly only good for the person it was mailed to but I bet if you called them you could get the same deal.

We just recently came back from fort wilderness. Stayed 8 days. Loved it. You will need bikes and golf cart to get around. We stayed in the 900 loop. No problem. Sites all seem about the same. We have 37 ft 5ver triple slide and even used a screen porch custom made for our unit.
Since we did not take our golf cart we rented one . Costly but worth it due to distance to marina. If you go to other parks than Magic Kingdom I would drive. Parking is included and aster than using their transportation. Can't wait to go again. Really so much fun and activities one does not even go into the parks.

We've stayed at Fort Wildners two times already, are third will be this comming Christmas. It's wonderful, you will enjoy it. If you are traveling with any pets, there are special loops just for campers with pets. Pets are not allowed to leave the area of those loops.

Happy Traveling
