Campingman, I have been using that along with my Norton. Its good and its free. I have heard of it catching some new viruses that Norton has missed.

I downloaded that software Friday night and it found a worm called Yaha. From what I read on the websight the new worms try to disable your antivirus software and any program that the antivirus found infected. Luckily I had another version of Explorer that wasn't infected and I got back on-line and found out the fix was to use it in dos mode to get rid of the worm.
Had coffee with a friend yesterday and told him to check for this worm as I had e-mailed him Thursday night. He has Nortonand it didn't find it. He went to update his antivirus and it said he had the latest and greatest, but it didn't list the Yaha worm.
BTW it took me almost 3 hrs to get the computer back up. Wound up having to reload win'98se because either the worm or the antivirus wiped out some exe. program that Windows needs to run. I think it was a pvvd.exe. file. Not sure as I gave my friend all my paper work.

I've been using for a long time on my notebook. It is good antivirus software, and free.

Bonnie & Clyde, here is Symantec/Norton's security bulletin on http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.yaha@mm.html.

Chris:
Please recheck your link. It brings up OE to send an e-mail.
Are you all sure Norton has been beaten out? I hate to add another "unknown" anti-virus program.

Thanks Ed. It's the @ sign that confuses Open Roads. I fixed it.

No, I still use Norton on my desktop where everything important is.

Thank you Camping Man! I just downloaded the free antivirus software. My subscription to Norton ran out and they wouldn't update it because it was the 5.0 version. (Which I just bought this past year - MAD MAD!!)I wouldn't have known about the AVG anti virus if you hadn't told us about it. Thank you! Pigfarmer ‹(•¿•)›

to B&C: You are the second person to claim that Norton didn't find a virus that was old, and if that is true, I would want to switch. Can you confirm?
2nd. I have Norton, and it shows W32.Yaha as a virus from Feb/2002. Did your friend look for it under that name, or just under Yaha? Maybe that is why it didn't find it?
3rd. There is no file PVVD.* in windows, so that probably was not the name. Curious as to what the name was.
