i have water stains in various locations on the ceiling, which is carpeted. any advice on removing them? i was told that a steam cleaner may loosen the adhesive that attaches the carpet, so i am hesistant to try that. the second part of the problem is that the stains are old...although i dont know if that makes a difference. i appreciate the input!

I "REDUCED" stains once using Spot Shot carpet spot remover. Worth a try.

Oxy-Clean took it out of our ceiling.

Save your money. I had a leak which left brown spots on my carpeted ceiling. I asked the local (old timer) RV dealer and was told to fill a spray bottle with 1 part bleach, 3 parts water. Spray on effected area and blotch with a sponge. You would never know the spot ever existed.
