Hi All,
After struggling with my weight since I was a kid, I've decided to have the Lap Band procedure done. I’m at peace with my decision to move forward.
I've got my procedure scheduled for July 25th. I've got a long road ahead of me since I have approximately 200 pounds (yep, over a whole person) to lose. Wish me luck on my new journey and the regaining my quality of life back. It's scary but I know the alternatives are even worse. If anyone has had the procedure, let me know. Thanks for listening.

My son-in-law's dad had the procedure done in Mexico. I'm guesstimating this was done about 6 months ago. He paid out of pocket, as procedure cost much less there. I'm not advocating Mexico as the place to do this but was successful for him and SIL's last report was that he had lost 50 lbs as of about one month ago. My SIL's parents are divorced so I don't see SIL's dad often, but would love to see the new "him".

Cat and Mandrake, thank you so much! July 25 is the date chosen for the procedure.
I love to eat and I love to cook for big groups. I was raised in the kitchen of a household that was constantly enteratining! But the time has come to pay the piper, buckle down and regain my life back. It's in my hands for me to do.
Thanks again for the encouragement.

Thanks Terri, I sure will. I'm excited. I almost wish I could move the date up, but I want to get through and enjoy the 4th of July holidays and need to wait for my Medical Flex plan to kick back in the first part of July. Every little bit helps since my company insurance doesn't cover the procedure.

I certainly wish for you the very best outcome of this surgery, and hope you will feel really great afterward. And, along with the others here, hope you keep everyone posted on your progress.
Good luck!
