We have used the KOA campground in near-by Streetsboro a few times. Might want to try them.

I'm not very partial towards most KOAs. There is another campground in Streetsboro, Woodside Lake Park. I've never camped there, but have been in the park. It seemed like a nice place. Check the reviews.

The KOA might be a shorter drive to Solon, but not by much.

There is also Round Up Lake in Mantua. It's further away though. It used to be a Yogi Bear park but was bought out by Morgan Resorts so Yogi isn't there anymore.

Don't go this campground, they just got busted for a meth lab in a camper. I would go to Punderson State park, it's about 10 min from Solon. Very nice lodge you can go over for a swim in for $5.00 (inside) Or Kool Lakes (20 min away) http://www.koollakes.com/ or dinner. Or Roundup Lake very nice (just had our company pinic here)but its $50 a night. Woodside I would also avoid Very run down.

I hadn't heard about the meth lab thing, and haven't been to the KOA in about 2 years. I had forgotten about Punderson and Kool Lakes. I have used both of them, although it's been about 5 years. I was at Woodside Lake one time, about 5 years ago. I was not impressed and made a note to skip that one for future use. Good luck.

Punderson is a wonderful state park. I had forgotten about it in relation to Solon. The campground has very unlevel sites. Try to get site 13, it is the most level. They have a bunch of 15 amp electric sites so be careful.

Round up lake is not as good as it has been. New owners. It is pricey and just something diferent. We have been taking the grandkids there for the last three years and it was different this year. Last year the WIFI was free at the main house and this year it is 5.00 aday.

On the positive side it is a Passport America park this year and I think they givevets a discount now.

Didn't Roundup Lake used to be a Yogi Bear/Jellystone property? I had heard that Jellystone dropped them for apparently not meeting their minimum performance standards/requirements. Just something that I had heard...not sure how true.

Yes correct, they are part of morgan rv now. The staff told us that next year to camp even on weekends you'll have to pay a membership fee. Hope this doesn't happen its a very nice campground.

Not going to happen. Morgan dropped there plans of making Roundup a private resort. The park is still very nice. It has had a few tough years for sure but it looks like a commitment has been made to bring the park back up to where it was a few years ago. Roundup is not perfect but I still think it is the nicest park in the area.
